'Game of Thrones' Announces Season 7 Comic-Con Plans
When Comic-Con arrives this summer, winter will already be well underway.
HBO has announced their plans for Game of Thrones at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The series will again panel in the massive Hall H, this year set for Friday, July 21, at 1:30 p.m. Here's who is attending: castmembers Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), Conleth Hill (Varys) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark). Executive producers and showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss will not be in attendance. The panel will be moderated by a "special guest from Westeros," according to the cabler.
The HBO fantasy series has been a mainstay at Comic-Con since its first season launched in 2011, but this will be the first time that the show will be airing during Comic-Con, given that season seven premieres Sunday, July 16, a few short days before the panel. With that in mind, many fans and onlookers are expecting the often cagey tenor that's become a ritual of the Game of Thrones Comic-Con panel to be bolstered with some added material from the new season. Is it too much to ask for an early viewing of 702? We can certainly dream.
Joining Game of Thrones at SDCC is HBO's freshman breakout Westworld, which will hold a panel on Saturday, July 22, at 4:15 p.m. in Hall H. Reggie Watts will moderate the panel that will include creators and showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and castmembers (in alphabetical order) Ben Barnes (Logan), Ingrid Bolsø Berdal (Armistice), Ed Harris (Man in Black), Luke Hemsworth (Stubbs), James Marsden (Teddy), Thandie Newton (Maeve), Simon Quarterman (Lee Sizemore), Rodrigo Santoro (Hector), Angela Sarafyan (Clementine), Jimmi Simpson (William), Tessa Thompson (Charlotte), Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores), Shannon Woodward (Elsie) and Jeffrey Wright (Bernard/Arnold).
