'Game of Thrones' Dragons Are Coming to New York, Los Angeles and More

Game of Thrones Finale Daenerys - H 2015

Ever since she first debuted onscreen, fans have waited with bated breath for Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) to land in Westeros. That moment has not yet arrived, but this week, the Khaleesi's dragons will be closer to home than ever.

In time with the Blu-ray release of Game of Thrones: The Complete Fifth Season on Tuesday (March 15), HBO has planned an onslaught of dragon fire and mayhem for fans across the United States. Fans living in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and San Francisco will encounter dragon landings across their cities throughout the week, with each crash site featuring massive footprints, burned wreckage, and other assorted forms of carnage that could only be caused by one of three sources: Drogon, Rhaegal or Viserion.

On the evening of March 15, New York's Herald Square will mark the occasion by screening The Dance of Dragons, a 20-minute feature from the Blu-ray, focused on a long-ago civil war within House Targaryen — an event that will culminate in a 3D animated projection of a dragon taking flight across New York. The creature will appear later that same evening in Los Angeles on Hollywood & Highland's Central Courtyard Archway at sunset, and then again over the subsequent two days in Philadelphia and San Francisco.
