CBS is back in business with Enlisted alum Geoff Stults.

The network is teaming with the actor-producer to develop a comedy about a hero bachelor, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Stults and writing partner Dave Whatley will pen the script and exec produce the untitled comedy, a co-production from Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios. Stults, who last year starred in CBS pilot Cuz-Bros, is also eyeing the comedy as a starring vehicle for himself.

The half-hour centers on Martin "Marty" Booker, a firefighter, average Joe, ladies' man and three-time firehouse beer pong Olympics champion who had no real ambition in life. After a news crew films him saving two kids from a burning building and the clip goes viral, Marty is thrust into the limelight and becomes a national hero and winds up being elected mayor.

The comedy is based on an original ideal from Stults and Whatley. The duo will team with SPT-based Olive Bridge's Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz as well as New Girl duo Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, who are based at CBSTVS.

The Stults vehicle marks the ninth comedy sale for Olive Bridge at the broadcast networks this development season.

Stults (The Finder, Netflix's upcoming Grace and Frankie) and Whatley are represented by UTA and Thruline; Olive Bridge is with UTA and Sloane Offer; Port and Wiseman with UTA and Myman Greenspan.
