Giuliana Rancic to Discuss Breast Cancer Diagnosis on Monday's E! News

UPDATED: The anchor plans to further address the news on her series before taking time off for her scheduled lumpectomy.

After announcing her battle with breast cancer on the Today show, E! News anchor Giuliana Rancic will address the diagnosis during the Monday (Oct. 17) broadcast of her show.

The 36-year-old television personality, who is also serves as a panelist on the network's Fashion Police, will take time off following the episode to recuperate from her scheduled lumpectomy and undergo six weeks of radiation therapy.

"On behalf of her E! family we are sending our love and support to Giuliana and applaud her for sharing her recent breast cancer diagnosis in the hope that it will encourage women everywhere to take necessary and preventative measures," says a statement from the NBC-Universal-owned network. "We are grateful that thanks to early detection Giuliana is expected to have a swift and complete recovery."

Rancic says doctors discovered her tumor during a mammogram she had at the prompting of her in-vitro fertilization doctor. She's undergone two previous rounds of IVF treatments with husband, Apprentice winner Bill Rancic.

Their attempt to have children has been a topic of their Style network reality series, Giuliana & Bill, and Rancic tells Today that her diagnosis has not dissuaded her from trying again.

UPDATE: The Style network also released a statement, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "Giuliana has always shown great strength and courage in sharing her challenges with health issues facing so many women. We are hopeful that with the early detection she will have a complete recovery and that her personal journey will continue to be an inspiration and education for women everywhere."
