'Glee' Preview: New Directions Takes On Michael Jackson (Photos)

Mashups, Duets and More

A plethora of duets are slated to be part of the Jackson hour, with Artie and Mike teaming for "Scream," and Mercedes and Sam pairing (awwww) on "Human Nature"/"Nature Boy" -- a mashup of Jackson and the Nat King Cole classic. The Jan. 31 episode, the series' second after its return from holiday hiatus, will not be the first time Glee has tackled Jackson tunes. Jackson's "Thriller" was featured during Glee's post-Super Bowl episode and last year's "Hold on to Sixteen" hour featured the "Man in the Mirror," the Jackson 5's "ABC" and Janet Jackson's "Control."

Glee's ready to be startin' somethin' on Jan. 31 when McKinley High's New Directions pay tribute to Michael Jackson.

In the episode, which will feature about nine songs from King of Pop's vast musical library, Naya Rivera's Santana dons Jackson's famed fedora, the Warblers and New Directions go head-to-head for "Bad" and Blaine (Darren Criss) gets a slushie in the face from Dalton Academy bad-boy Sebastian (Grant Gustin).

Leather jackets, a "Bad" re-enactment and Criss (hopefully) doing Jackson's famed Moonwalk, the episode will join Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Madonna as artists who have received the Glee tribute.

Also coming: an April tribute episode to the Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
