'Glee’s' Lea Michele Mocked by 'Modern Family's' Sarah Hyland on 'Fashion Police' (Video)

Hyland imitated the actress’ signature red carpet pose while guest hosting the E! Show.

Sarah Hyland, who plays the eldest child on ABC’s Modern Family, voiced some tough criticism about Glee’s Lea Michele’s red carpet posing. Hyland was a guest commentator on E!’s Fashion Police on Friday, and when it came to Lea Michele, Hyland decided to show viewers how strange she thought Michele’s posing for cameras looked.

“She sticks out her collarbone to make her look skinnier and she sticks out her lips,” said Hyland as she attempted to replicate the pose.

The 20-year-old actress said she saw Michele doing this pose when she attended the Glee 3-D movie premiere.

"It's very strange, it's very strange. I actually saw a clip of her doing that on the red carpet and you see me in the background, like with my back turned looking at my publicist, being like 'I don't know what to do right now.' Like this is very awkward for me, I've never seen anything like this before in my life."

After the segment aired on Friday, Gleeks were up in arms about Hyland’s comments. Hyland took to her Twitter to explain herself, but did not apologize.

“I did not intend for my comments to be taken in a malicious way,” she wrote. “In no way am I jealous of Lea Michele. I'm happy with my own life and am not jealous of anyone else’s in the world.”

“I can't take myself that seriously. I don't like the red carpet. I feel silly. So props to her for knowing what she's doing and enjoying it,” she continued.

“But I won't apologize. I'm an outspoken person. I own what I said about that outfit. And I mimicked what I saw with my own two eyes,” she wrote.

Hyland even tweeted directly to Lea Michele, planning to connect at tonight’s Emmy awards event. Both of their shows are nominated for Best Comedy.
