The season premiere of The Good Doctor added more viewers in the week after its initial airing than any show since … the previous season finale of The Good Doctor. The election week episode of Saturday Night Live also grew by a lot via delayed viewing.

The Good Doctor grew by 4.48 million viewers — nearly equal to its same-day tally of 4.87 million — in the week after its premiere on ABC. That's the biggest seven-day jump for any show since March 30, when the third-season finale of the drama added 4.7 million people. It also rose by 0.79 points among adults 18-49 (0.66 to 1.45), the best mark for any primetime show.

The Nov. 7 SNL, meanwhile, added just over a full point (1.02) to its 18-49 rating and 3.33 million viewers, giving the show a 3.64 demo rating and 12.42 million viewers after seven days. Both are the best marks for the show since the Eddie Murphy-hosted episode in December 2019.

With a half-dozen broadcast series premiering in the week of Nov. 2, more shows posted sizable gains via delayed viewing. Four added at least half a point to their 18-49 rating, and seven grew by more than 2 million viewers; both counts are highs for the season so far.
