'Gossip Girl' Alum, Will Packer Team for Female Cop Dramedy at NBC (Exclusive)
Ride Along producer Will Packer's big development season is getting bigger.
The producer, in his first year developing for the small screen, has sold his fourth project. NBC has handed out a script commitment to an untitled female buddy-cop project from Packer and Gossip Girl alum Amanda Lasher, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The dramedy is described as a "light" female buddy show about two LAPD homicide detectives whose personal lives are messier than any crime scene.

Lasher will pen the script and executive produce alongside Packer and his Will Packer Productions head of television Korin Huggins. Universal Television, where Packer's company is under an overall deal, will produce.
The dramedy comes on the heels of NBC finding moderate success with rookie drama Mysteries of Laura, which centers on Debra Messing's busy detective struggling to find balance between her career, ex-husband and children. The drama, which has not been favorably reviewed, recently earned a vote of confidence from NBC with an order for three additional scripts.
This marks Packer's fourth sale of the season. It joins DJ Nash comedy #PeopleAreTalking, semi-autobiographical half-hour Like Father, Like Son and the Uncle Buck remake, which has drawn ire from the families of John Candy and John Hughes. All are for NBC save for Uncle Buck, which is at ABC.
Packer is repped by UTA and Ziffren Brittenham. Lasher is with UTA and Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment.
