Mike (Aaron Tveit) wasn’t the only one left reeling from the end of season two of Graceland.

In the final episodes of season two, a newly pregnant Charlie (Vanessa Ferlito) was kidnapped and brutally beaten. Although she barely escaped with her baby still intact, the worst is yet to come.

“You haven’t seen anything yet,” Ferlito tells The Hollywood Reporter. “She's really in for it this season.”

A big part of that will be Charlie’s decision to keep working as hard as ever despite the fact that it was her job that put her in harm’s way. “She's in denial,” Ferlito says. “The baby survived a beating and she has a couple more weeks before she starts showing. She feels like she needs to finish this case. She jumps right in.”

Also not helping matters this season is the fact that Charlie is going down this road solo. “It's not like she was sharing it with Briggs and he was fussing over her or anything,” Ferlito says. “I think she felt stuck between a rock and a hard place because she thinks, ‘I still have to support myself and my child and what am I going to do?’"

Adds Ferlito: “She has to make some really big choices. Of course she gets mixed up with the wrong crowd.”

One member of that wrong crowd may well be Amber (Brit Morgan), the criminal with whom Charlie developed a tight bond at the end of last season — that is before Amber got Charlie kidnapped. As seen in THR’s exclusive video from Thursday’s new episode, Amber still looms large over Charlie.

Although Charlie and her baby daddy Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) appear in the video to be on the same page professionally, the biggest question is what season three holds for the two romantically.

“It’s really complicated. She really loves him, but he's lied to her so much,” Ferlito says. “She’s torn. She wasn’t ready for the relationship to be over, but she found out all this stuff about him, and the Odin Rossi thing and the tape. Its just lie after lie after lie.”

Even Ferlito admits she gets “confused” about where she and Briggs stand. “At the end of the day, I think she knows that it's all coming from a good place but then again, does she know where it's really coming from? I wonder that about Briggs. He can change at any moment. As of right now, Briggs is a good guy, but how does he carry that on for so long?”
