Denzel Washington is headed to Shondaland.

The two-time Oscar winner has been tapped to direct an upcoming episode of ABC's Grey's Anatomy, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Washington will helm episode nine of the Shonda Rhimes-Betsy Beers medical drama's 12th season, which will be penned by head writer Stacy McKee and is poised to start production this month.

Grey's marks Washington's TV directing debut. The prolific actor has previously directed two features: 2002's Antwone Fisher and 2007’s The Great Debaters. The Grey's gig will also reunite him with longtime friend Debbie Allen, who recurs, directs and exec produces the Ellen Pompeo starrer.

TV Line first reported the news.
