Hulu is returning to the 18th century.

The streamer has renewed Harlots, the period drama inspired by the stories of real women.

Set against the backdrop of 18th century Georgian London, Harlots follows the Wells family, led by matriarch Margaret (Samantha Morton), as they continue to run a brothel.

Morton — who recently joined AMC's The Walking Dead as a series regular for its upcoming ninth season — will return in some capacity. It is unclear if she will be a series regular or have a recurring role in the third season of the series co-starring Lesley Manville.

Harlots hails from executive producers Moira Buffini, Alison Newman, Alison Owen, Debra Hayward and Alison Carpenter. The drama was the first series commissioned by Monumental Pictures, the independent company founded by Oscar-nominated producers Owen (Suffragette) and Hayward (Bridget Jones’s Baby).

Season two, which featured Liv Tyler, wrapped its run in August. Season three will consist of another cycle of eight episodes.

Harlots is part of a scripted roster at Hulu that also includes The Handmaid's Tale, The First, Marvel's The Runaways, Castle Rock, the recently ordered Veronica Mars and the upcoming Catch-22, Looking for Alaska, Shrill, PEN15 and the animated entry Solar Opposites, among others.
