Discovery Family has renewed Game of Homes for a second season.

The competition renovation series also has a new host, with Dave Salmoni (Pet Nation Renovation) guiding four teams of amateur home renovators as they attempt to save dilapidated houses and revive them room by room into their dream homes.

However, before the competition even begins, the houses are ripped from their foundations and transferred to a 70,000-square-foot arena. There, the teams completely renovate the run-down structures while living inside their slowly improving homes for eight weeks. They must cope with small budgets, tight deadlines and even tighter living spaces.

In each hourlong episode, two expert judges along with celebrity guest judges — such as Cheryl Torrenueva (Discovery Family's Reno, Set, Go!) and Jillian Harris (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette) — vote for their favorite room renovations based on design and workmanship. At the end of the series, the winning couple is awarded the house they renovated, with all the furniture inside and a plot of land to put it on.

The eight-episode second season premieres at 10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4.

The series is produced by Great Pacific Media and distributed worldwide by Beyond Distribution. For Great Pacific Media, Blair Reekie is the series producer.

Discovery Family's schedule features a mix of original series, family-friendly movies and programming from Discovery's nonfiction library along Hasbro Studios' animation franchises, including My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Littlest Pet Shop and Transformers Rescue Bots.
