Showtime's House of Lies is poised to get to know Clyde a bit better.

The Don Cheadle comedy has enlisted A Serious Man's Fred Melamed to play the father to Ben Schwartz's Clyde, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Melamed will recur as Harvey Oberholt, to whom Clyde (shocker!) has a difficult relationship. He arrives on his son's doorstep with a dying wish that Clyde must consider whether he can fulfill.

Melamed's credits include USA's freshman comedy Benched, where he recurs as a judge; CBS' The Good Wife and The Crazy Ones as well as the announcer on Silk Stalkings.

He joins a growing list of previously announced season four players including Demetri Martin, Mary McCormack and Valorie Curry.

House of Lies returns Sunday, Jan. 11 on Showtime.

Melamed is repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Evolution.
