'Imposters' Enlists 'Billions' Actor, 'Melrose Place' Alum for Season 2 (Exclusive)
Imposters is adding a few names for season two.
Billions actor Sam Gilroy and Melrose Place grad Anne-Marie Johnson have landed recurring roles on the Bravo con-artist drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The first season of the hourlong followed a persona-shifting con artist named Maddie (Inbar Lavi) as her three most recent victims (Rob Heaps, Parker Young and Marianne Rendon) join forces to take her down. The season ended with the trio, known as "the bumblers," on a bus to San Francisco after helping Maddie narrowly avoid getting busted by the FBI.
Johnson will play Gail, a psychologist/therapist at a luxury wellness retreat. Gilroy will portray Michael, a sweet, well-intentioned man who also works at the retreat.
The duo join previously announced season two additions Rachel Skarsten (Reign) and Imposters co-creator Paul Adelstein, who will appear onscreen as a fixer and the ex-husband of Uma Thurman's mysterious Lenny Cohen.
Adelstein co-created the Universal Cable Productions series with Adam Brooks (Definitely Maybe), and the two serve as showrunners and executive producers. With Odd Mom Out canceled and Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce set to end next season, Imposters will soon stand as Bravo's lone scripted series. Like sister cable network E! (see: The Arrangement and The Royals), Bravo has slowly pushed forward into scripted series programming.
Johnson starred on What's Happening Now, In the Heat of the Night and In Living Color before segueing to recurring roles on Melrose Place, JAG, Girlfriends and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. She is repped by Imperium 7 Talent Agency and Opus Entertainment.
In addition to his recurring role on Billions, Gilroy's credits include The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Night Of and Blue Bloods. He is repped by Professional Artists and Foundation Talent Management.
Imposters is expected to return for season two in early 2018.
