NBC's This Is Us will be bringing back a key player for season three.

After guest-starring in the season two finale, actress Melanie Liburd will return to the NBC family drama in season three as a series regular. Liburd (Gypsy, Dark Matter) will reprise her role as Zoe, Beth's cool cousin who (spoiler alert) in the season-ending flash-forward, is revealed to be Kevin's (Justin Hartley) girlfriend as the duo travel to Vietnam.

"When we come back, we're going to be embarking on a new chapter with them sort of discovering their romance, and their relationship, and figuring out what they are. We can expect to see her for a while," co-showrunner Elizabeth Berger told The Hollywood Reporter after the season two finale.

Few details are known about Zoe other than her mother left her with Beth's (Susan Kelechi Watson) mother as a child. In the season two finale, Zoe winds up serving as the photographer at Kate's (Chrissy Metz) wedding to Toby (Chris Sullivan), which is where she meets Kevin.

Season three will continue to explore Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) time in Vietnam. The series recently recruited Michael Angarano as Jack's brother, Nicky, as the upcoming season of the Dan Fogelman-created drama will flash back to their time in Vietnam. Other new faces joining This Is Us season three include Jane Kaczmarek, who will guest-star as a university professor and scientist and Rob Morgan (Mudbound) as part of a political storyline. Season three of This Is Us bows Sept. 25 on NBC.

For her part, Liburd most recently had a role in Netflix's Gypsy and will next appear in Tom Shadyac's The Brian Banks story, due in 2019. She's repped by UTA, the U.K.'s Identity Agency Group and Felker Toczek.
