Watch the First Look at Netflix's Jason Bateman-Laura Linney Drama 'Ozark'

Before Jason Bateman steps back into the shoes of Michael Bluth, the Arrested Development star will next return to Netflix for a much darker role.

On Thursday, Netflix unveiled the first footage from the forthcoming drama Ozark in which Bateman and Laura Linney play a husband and wife on the run with their two children in a dangerous town.

"Hypothetically, on a scale of one to 10, how difficult would it be for someone to disappear?" he asks in the teaser below.

Ordered to series at Netflix in early 2016, Ozark is set in the world of drug-money laundering and takes its name from the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Bateman will direct, exec produce and star as a family man who moves from the city to the Lake of the Ozarks to begin repaying the money-laundering debt he owes to a ruthless and powerful drug lord.

The series marks Bateman's first series regular role since Arrested Development's fourth season, and his first on Netflix. It also marks Linney's first TV role since The Big C went off the air in 2013.

Bill Dubuque (The Judge) created the series and writes and exec produces alongside Bateman, Mark Williams and showrunner Chris Mundy (Low Winter Sun).

The drama marks the latest collaboration between Netflix and Media Rights Capital (House of Cards), which is producing Ozark.

The series premieres July 21 on Netflix.
