Jimmy Fallon Channels Trump as Elvis Impersonator for "Jailhouse Rock" Parody
Jimmy Fallon added a new layer, and wig, to his impression of Donald Trump on Tuesday's episode of NBC's The Tonight Show by playing Trump impersonating Elvis Presley. The parody was inspired by the president's recent comment that he used to be told he looked like the legendary singer.
"It's great being here in Memphis," said Fallon as he sat on a chair while holding a guitar on his lap. He wore an all leather outfit and a black wig over the orange-blond wig that he regularly wears when impersonating Trump.
"I gotta tell you. A lot of people have been saying I look like Elvis. It's true. They say I look like Elvis, so I'd like to do a tribute to the great man himself," he said before he handed the guitar to a person offstage, grabbed the microphone off its stand and began to dance to the tune of "Jailhouse Rock."
Fallon's version of the hit song featured new lyrics. "The warden threw a party in the county jail/ Everyone in my administration started to wail/ Indictments headed down to the whole West Wing/ You should have heard my lawyer Michael Cohen sing," he sang. "Let's rock, everybody let's rock/ Everybody with a White House job/ Was dancing to the Jailhouse Rock."
The next verse included shout-outs to Robert Mueller, Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Sam Patten, Michael Flynn and George Papadopoulos.
"Manafort spoke to Julian Assange/ Elvis' hair was black and mine's orange/ I'm all shook up, the walls are closing in/ I'm a hunka burning love for Vladdy Putin," he continued.
After he sang the final chorus, Fallon pulled out a red scarf from under his jacket and twirled it around. The maneuver forced the Elvis wig to fall off of his head. "Fake news," Fallon said at the end of the song as he concluded the performance with kicking and fighting motions. "Thank me. Thank me very much."
