Oscars 2015: John Travolta Explains Idina Menzel Flub on 'Kimmel' (Video)

Jimmy Kimmel Oscar Special - H 2015

Jimmy Kimmel kept the Oscar party going.

On his annual postshow, John Travolta was among the guests a year after his Idina Menzel name flub.

Travolta explained what happened, saying he was distracted by meeting Goldie Hawn backstage. Just before he went out to introduce Menzel, he was told, "We've changed Idina's name to a phonetic spelling," which was not how he'd rehearsed. It all added up to the flub heard around the world.

Hours before Kimmel's show, Travolta appeared during the Oscars telecast. This time, Menzel got revenge by mispronouncing his name as she introduced him to join her to present the best original song award.

Kimmel didn't give host Neil Patrick Harris much of a respite, barging into his dressing room to make some demands after the telecast.

They also took to the streets for a special Oscars edition of Lie Witness News.

On his postshow, Kimmel mocked the all-white slate of acting nominees, saying the rain on the red carpet was "definitive proof God is black." He also took a jab at Still Alice, for which Julianne Moore won best actress, calling it "a movie not a single person saw," including Moore.

Kevin Hart appeared from the Governors Ball, with Kimmel requesting he take a shot of tequila over to Oprah Winfrey and telling her, "This is from Mr. Kimmel." (No word if he actually did it.)

In a pretaped segment, Kimmel revealed he was an acting coach for a number of A-listers, including Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sean Penn, Jennifer Aniston, Jeff Bridges, Lupita Nyong'o, Mila Kunis, Gary Oldman and Kristen Bell.

"When someone lights your script on fire and duct tapes it to your hands, you find a way to say it," Bridges said.
