"My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon," daughter Melissa Rivers stated at the time of her mother's death.

E! is set to celebrate Joan Rivers with a Fashion Police marathon Friday that will include an appearance by her daughter, Melissa Rivers.

"Joan Day" will include 13 hours of Fashion Police, starting at 7 a.m., leading up to a new tribute, Fashion Police: Celebrating Joan, airing at 8 p.m.

The marathon will feature some of Rivers' best jokes along with her 80th birthday celebration and the last Fashion Police she did for the MTV Video Music Awards and Primetime Emmy special.

Meanwhile, the new 90-minute special will find Melissa Rivers joining Fashion Police hosts Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos.

The special will feature behind-the-scenes footage, including never-before-aired moments of Rivers candidly joking with the cast and making the studio audience laugh, along with outtakes. Melissa and the hosts also will share personal stories about the late comedian.

Rivers died Sept. 4 in New York following a throat procedure.
