2014's Rosewater served as the late-night host's directing debut. Though the film only raked in $3 million worldwide, it received generally positive reviews. The Los Angeles Times' Kenneth Turan wrote that the film "is so earnest and straightforward you'd guess it was directed by Dan Rather and not the host of Comedy Central's congenitally irreverent The Daily Show."

Jon Stewart's final Daily Show episode will feature guests Louis C.K., Denis Leary and Amy Schumer.

The longtime late-night host made the announcement at the end of Thursday night's episode.

"Remember, next week is our last week," he said. "We’re going to have a ball, and I can’t wait to show my appreciation at all the support and enthusiasm that you guys have given the show all these years."

Stewart's last episode — which will run 50 minutes long — is Thursday, Aug. 6. The comedians signs off after hosting the program for 16 years.
