Judi Dench Reveals a Director's Feedback: "You Have Every Single Thing Wrong With Your Face"

In British director Stephen Frear's Philomena, Dench stars as an Irish woman who enlists political journalist Martin Sixsmith (Steve Coogan) to help find her long-lost son. The film, which premiered at the festival, is based on a true story.

Not every audition is always going to go well, even if you're Judi Dench.

The Oscar-winning actress appeared in a Tonight Show segment, where she revealed details about her worst audition ever.

"[The director] said, 'I'm sorry, but not this film, and probably,' he said, 'not any film, as you have every single thing wrong with your face,' " Dench admitted.

The star had a delightful response to the harsh assessment, as you might expect from someone as resilient as she is.
