Kristin Kreuk Starrer 'Burden of Truth' Nabs New Showrunner

Adam Pettle replaces Noelle Carbone and Adriana Maggs on the Entertainment One, ICF Films and Eagle Vision legal drama.

The Kristin Kreuk starrer Burden of Truth has a new showrunner.

Adam Pettle has boarded the legal drama after Noelle Carbone and Adriana Maggs stepped down as showrunners on the indie drama that has Kreuk playing a big-city lawyer passed over for partnership who returns to her hometown to take on what she thinks is a simple case, only to find herself in a fight for justice for a group of sick girls.

Pettle is also a showrunner on The Detail, a Canadian crime drama for ION Television that stars Shenae Grimes-Beech, known for her role on 90210, as a street-smart detective. His TV credits include ABC's Rookie Blue and Combat Hospital, and NBC's Saving Hope.

Burden of Truth, previously titled Burden of Proof, has started production on 10 one-hour episodes in Winnipeg, Manitoba, ahead of a winter 2018 debut. The series from co-producers Entertainment One, ICF Films and Eagle Vision has also added Peter Mooney, Star Slade, Alex Carter, Ben Ayres, Nicola Correia-Damude and Meegwun Fairbrother to its ensemble cast.

The investigative drama was created by Brad Simpson (Rookie Blue). Executive producers are Ilana Frank, Linda Pope, Jocelyn Hamilton and Kreuk.
