The Kristin Kreuk starrer Burden of Truth has a new showrunner.

Adam Pettle has boarded the legal drama after Noelle Carbone and Adriana Maggs stepped down as showrunners on the indie drama that has Kreuk playing a big-city lawyer passed over for partnership who returns to her hometown to take on what she thinks is a simple case, only to find herself in a fight for justice for a group of sick girls.

Pettle is also a showrunner on The Detail, a Canadian crime drama for ION Television that stars Shenae Grimes-Beech, known for her role on 90210, as a street-smart detective. His TV credits include ABC's Rookie Blue and Combat Hospital, and NBC's Saving Hope.

Burden of Truth, previously titled Burden of Proof, has started production on 10 one-hour episodes in Winnipeg, Manitoba, ahead of a winter 2018 debut. The series from co-producers Entertainment One, ICF Films and Eagle Vision has also added Peter Mooney, Star Slade, Alex Carter, Ben Ayres, Nicola Correia-Damude and Meegwun Fairbrother to its ensemble cast.

The investigative drama was created by Brad Simpson (Rookie Blue). Executive producers are Ilana Frank, Linda Pope, Jocelyn Hamilton and Kreuk.
