NBC is looking for a second live holiday event.

The network is reteaming with prolific producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey for a live nativity musical, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

As first reported by TV Insider, the project is in the early stages of development at the network with MGM TV attached.

The live event would follow the the Nativity tale of the birth of Christ and be produced by The Voice and The Bible producers Burnett and Downey. The Voice's Audrey Morrissey and Stijn Bakkers are also attached to exec produce. The former counts live events including the MTV VMAs as well as the CMT Music Awards among his body of work.

The live musical, if it moves forward, would be their latest religious-themed entry for NBC following short-lived Bible-follow-up, A.D., which was canceled after one low-rated season.

Should the live event work, Burnett and Downey are considering a stage rendition. The live Nativity musical is being eyed for Christmas 2016.

The news comes as Fox is looking to Tyler Perry to host a live religious musical event called The Passion, set for Palm Sunday (March 20).
