Lori Loughlin Confirms Role in 'Fuller House' Revival
Netflix's Fuller House reboot has snagged another original cast member.
Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on the original Full House, on Thursday confirmed that she'll return for the Netflix reboot.
"Officially I'm going to be part of the reboot — or spinoff — of Fuller House," she said Thursday on Good Morning America.
Fuller House stars original cast members Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), her on-screen younger sister, Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber, who played her best friend, Kimmy Gibbler. John Stamos will produce and reprise his role as Uncle Jesse in a guest role. Dave Coulier will also return as Uncle Joey. Talks are underway to bring back fellow original star Bob Saget. As THR previously reported, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not be returning.
"I'm very excited, it's going to be really great to be back with the whole cast; it's going to be a lot of fun," Loughlin said. "We're going to help Candace and Jodie and Andrea spin off the new show Fuller House. We'll come back and do the first episode and maybe throughout the season we'll pop up here and there."
Responding to news that the Olsens will not be back, Loughlin expressed her disappointment. "They've chosen not to be a part of it, which we would have loved it and it would have been great but I understand."
Set to bow on Netflix in 2016, Fuller House revolves around D.J. Tanner-Fuller employed as a vet, pregnant and recently widowed, and living in San Francisco. Stephanie, now an aspiring musician, and single mother Kimmy — along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona — all move in to help take care of D.J.’s two boys, the rebellious 12-year-old J.D. and neurotic 7-year-old Max, and her soon-to-arrive baby.
The multicamera comedy hails from Warner Horizon Television, Miller-Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions. Full House creator Jeff Franklin will return to oversee Fuller House alongside exec producers Robert L. Boyett and Thomas L. Miller. The series originally aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995.
