USA Network has tapped Lost and Parenthood favorites to star in its drama pilot Poor Richard's Almanack.

The NBCUniversal-owned cable network announced Thursday that Lost's Harold Perrineau and Parenthood's Sam Jaeger will topline the drama from Jim Danger Gray.

The title takes its name from a yearly almanac published by Ben Franklin, who adopted the pseudonym of "Poor Richard" in order to publish the annual pamphlet offering weather forecasts, household hints, puzzles and more. From corporate sibling Universal Cable Productions and Legendary Television, the drama weaves between modern day and a possible future where characters have changed radically. It's described as a thriller about a cadre of heroes who emerge as the new "Founding Fathers" after America is pushed to the brink of collapse. Sources tell THR that America is attacked and taken over by another country and explores the new group of heroes who help re-establish democracy.

Perrineau will play Matt Monroe, the FBI Agent in charge after a terrorist attack on Philadelphia, while Jaeger is set as Darwin Fischer, a former CIA field agent-turned-analyst. Monroe’s search for the attack’s inside man puts him on a crash course with Darwin and his schizophrenic sister (Jordan Hayes, Helix), embroiling them in a conspiracy that will shake the country to its core.

The drama hails from executive producers Gray (Orange Is the New Black) and Miguel Sapochnik (Game of Thrones). Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones) will direct the pilot and exec produce via his Applebox Entertainment alongside partner Marc Helwig. It marks Legendary Television's second show with USA, joining Carlton Cuse's Josh Holloway starrer Colony, which debuts this year.

Perrineau's credits include Syfy's Z Nation and NBC's Constantine. He's repped by APA. Jaeger is fresh off six seasons on NBC's beloved family drama Parenthood. He most recently toplined TNT drama pilot Lumen, which did not move forward. He's with Greene & Associates, Circle of Confusion and Ziffren Brittenham.
