After news surfaced that former Lost actor, Doug Hutchison, 51, had married 16 year-old aspiring actress and singer, Courtney Stodden, in May, the two have been attacked publicly and apparently privately, as well.

The couple appeared on Friday’s Good Morning America to tell their side of the story. And we’re not sure they really did themselves any favors.

Among their confessions include the fact that Hutchison is four years older than his bride’s father. They say they met on the internet and that her mother supervised their exchanges, later giving the legally required parental consent for the marriage.

Stodden says she was a virgin until their wedding night. And while some have accused the self-professed “old soul” of being older than 16, GMA verified her birth certificate. Plus, the curvy teen denies accusations that she’s had plastic surgery.

“Courtney’s plastic surgeon is God,” Hutchison says.

As a result of their marriage and 35 year age difference, Hutchison’s mother has stopped speaking to him, and both his agent and manager have dropped him.

“We said, ‘We knew this was going to happen. We knew we were going to have to weather the repercussions of our decision, our union. And this is just the beginning.’ And it brought us closer together,” Hutchison recounts during the interview.

And while the couple denies their relationship is a publicity stunt to jumpstart their careers, they admit producers have contacted them for a possible reality show.
