M. Night Shyamalan's Apple Series Adds Toby Kebbell to Cast
M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming series for Apple has filled the last of its lead roles with the casting of Toby Kebbell.
The War for the Planet of the Apes and Kong: Skull Island star will star in the untitled psychological thriller opposite Lauren Ambrose, Nell Tiger Free and Rupert Grint.
Tony Basgallop (Berlin Station, 24: Live Another Day) created the project and will executive produce with Shyamalan (Glass), who also is directing the first episode. The series, which Apple picked up back in February, has an order for 10 half-hour episodes.
Kebbell will Sean Turner, play a professional chef, father and husband of Dorothy (Ambrose). Free is portraying the couple's nanny, Leanne, and Grint is playing Dorothy's younger brother, Julian. Plot details have not been revealed.
Ashwin Rajan, Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black and Steve Tisch are also executive producers. Taylor Latham is a co-EP.
The Basgallop/Shyamalan thriller is one of more than 15 series that Apple has picked up or has in development for its forthcoming streaming service, ranging from a morning-show drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston to a series about young basketball players from NBA star Kevin Durant.
So far, however, the tech giant hasn't set a launch date for the service or said which shows will populate it at the outset.
