'Madam Secretary' Episodes to Air on Netflix and WE tv

The streaming giant and cable network have acquired the second window rights to the CBS drama starring Tea Leoni.

Madam Secretary will soon be available to binge on Netflix.
 
The platform has nabbed the off-network streaming rights to the CBS drama starring Tea Leoni. As part of the agreement, all three previous seasons of Madam Secretary are currently available on demand, with season four coming to the subscription service sometime in mid-2018. In addition, the second window cable rights for the drama will go to WE tv, part of AMC Networks, where the series will begin running sometime in 2018. 
 
"CBS dramas continue to be in demand on all viewing platforms as their subscribers and viewers covet content that appeals to mass audiences," said Scott Koondel, chief content licensing officer at CBS Corporation. "This proven off-network model will provide tremendous incremental value for both CBS and our licensing partners."
 
"Our growing viewership has demonstrated a clear interest in real and relatable characters through WE tv originals on Thursday and Friday nights and popular acquired shows like Madam Secretary, an acclaimed series that aligns well with our brand," said Marc Juris, president of WE tv.
 
Madam Secretary will also launch in weekend syndication in fall 2018 in premier time periods across some of the best TV stations in the country. Currently in its fourth season, the drama produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Revelations Entertainment. Executive producers include Barbara Hall, Lori McCreary, David Grae, Eric Stoltz and Morgan Freeman. Hall also created the series.
