Madam Secretary is rolling out the red carpet for a very special guest star.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will appear as herself in an upcoming episode of the CBS drama, the network announced Tuesday.

In the episode, Albright advises Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) on how to navigate a tricky situation with National Security Advisor Craig Sterling (guest star Julian Acosta) that is threatening to damage her relationship with President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine).

Leoni shared a photo with Albright from the set Tuesday.

Albright, whose 2003 memoir is also titled Madam Secretary, was the first female secretary of state and served under President Bill Clinton from 1997-2001.

In 2014 at the summer Television Critics Association conference, star Tim Daly revealed he had introduced Albright, his friend, to creator and showrunner Barbara Hall as production was starting up on season one. "She's very, very eager to weigh in and help us," said Hall at the time.

Madam Secretary's second season premieres on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
