'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Season 2 Trailer: Midge Is Even More Madcap

The first season of Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel followed the title character's whirlwind move from young mother and housewife to budding comedy star and divorcee.

Judging from the looks of the trailer for season two, the show is only picking up speed in its next go-round.

Set to the strains of Judy Garland's "Get Happy," the one-minute teaser is a barrage of quick cuts; sweeping camera moves; and a few lines of dialogue, like Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) saying onstage, "If that's not a deterrent for nuclear war, I don't know what is."

What little there is to discern of the story for season two involves Midge and her parents, Rose (Marin Hinkle) and Abe Weissman (Tony Shalhoub), heading to the Catskills, but the teaser is more about mood than anything else.

Season one of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was nominated for 14 Emmys, including outstanding comedy series; acting nods for Brosnahan, Shalhoub and Alex Borstein as Midge's manager; and writing and directing mentions for creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Sherman-Palladino told The Hollywood Reporter that season two, which is still in production, is "very ambitious."

"Nobody can accuse us of at least not trying to go for it," she said. "Go big or go home."

The show has also cast Zachary Levi in a recurring part as a doctor who comes into the Maisel-Weissman orbit.

Season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is expected to hit Amazon before the end of the year. Watch the trailer above.
