'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Gets Season 2 Trailer, Premiere Date

The wait for season two of Amazon's Emmy-winning comedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is almost over.

Amazon on Wednesday announced that the sophomore run of the series from Amy Sherman-Palladino will return Wednesday, Dec. 5. The streamer also unveiled the full-length season two trailer of the series starring Emmy-winner Rachel Brosnahan.

Here's the season two logline, per Amazon: After Midge's triumph at the Gaslight, the fallout from her takedown of Sophie Lennon looms large, making her climb up the comedy ladder more challenging than ever. As the actual grind of being a comic begins to take its toll on Midge, the pressure to come clean to her family weighs on her — especially as her choices have a ripple effect on everyone around her.

Maisel's first season earned 14 Emmy nominations and won for outstanding comedy series; lead actress (Brosnahan), lead actor in Tony Shalhoub and supporting actress for Alex Borstein, as well as writing and directing for its creator.

Season two, which will feature Zachary Levi in a recurring role, has been described as "very ambitious." Amazon has already renewed the series for a third run.
