'Masters of Sex' Creator Signs Overall Deal With FX Productions
Former Masters of Sex showrunner Michelle Ashford has inked an exclusive overall deal with FX Productions. Under the pact, she will develop television series for FX Networks and other outlets.
Ashford is best known for creating, executive producing and writing the Showtime drama starring Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan, which ended its four-season run last year.
“We admire Michelle’s ability to create great TV across so many different genres and know she will be a tremendous addition to the FX Networks creative team,” Nick Grad, who serves as FX Networks and FX Productions' original programming president alongside Eric Schrier, said Thursday in a statement. “Her storytelling skills have made her one of the most in-demand writers and producers in the business and we look forward to working together on new projects.”
Ashford is currently a co-executive producer and writer on HBO's forthcoming miniseries Lewis and Clark. She also wrote John Adams and The Pacific for the premium cable network, the latter of which earned her an Emmy nomination for writing for a miniseries or movie. In addition, she is adapting Ben Macintyre’s Operation Mincemeat as a feature film with John Madden attached to direct, as well as Brendan Koerner’s The Skies Belong to Us for New Regency.
Ashford is repped by CAA and attorney Michael Gendler.
