'The Mindy Project' Final Season Trailer Teases a Slew of Fan-Favorite Returns
There's no shortage of returning fan-favorites when The Mindy Project returns for its sixth and final season Sept. 12.
Hulu dropped the first official trailer for the last 10 episodes Friday and the footage is stuffed with familiar faces such as Adam Pally, Rhea Perlman, Mark Duplass and Glenn Howerton. (Sadly, no Chris Messina sightings yet, but the creative team behind the comedy has already confirmed he will return as Danny for multiple episodes.)
Plus, there's even a few new additions like Emmy-winner Julie Bowen.
The new season picks up after Mindy's sudden and surprising walk down the aisle with boyfriend Ben (Bryan Greenberg) at the end of last season. Kaling and showrunner Matt Warburton have already hinted that there will be trouble in paradise for the newlyweds, as teased by Mindy's ominous look in the final moments of season five.
"I think she has to say, 'OK, if all these different extremes are a problem, is it me? Is it them? Is there something wrong with me or something wrong with the world? What's going on here?' Warburton told THR in June. "She going to be thinking about that a lot."
Added Kaling: "That's been the fun of the beginning part of this season is showing her what the challenges are of being married."
In the new trailer, however, Mindy seems to be taking the rough turn of events in stride. "I have a lot to be thankful for. I got a great job. I got a great son. Will & Grace is back and bitchier than ever," she tells Morgan (Ike Barinholtz).
(They may air on different networks, but both hail from Universal TV.)
The new footage also teases a shocking hospitalization and at least one surprising hookup.
