Netflix is taking a cue from YouTube.

The streaming service has handed out an eight-episode series order to Haters Back Off, based on the character created by Miranda Sings star Colleen Ballinger-Evans, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The series is created by Ballinger-Evans and delves into the oddball family life of Miranda Sings, an incredibly confident, totally untalented star on the rise who continues to fail upward by the power of her belief that she was born famous, it's just no one knows it yet. Watch Ballinger-Evans make the announcement in-character, below.

Ballinger-Evans and Chris Ballinger as well as Perry Rein and Gigi McCreery developed the series for Netflix. Rein and McCreery will serve as showrunners and exec produce alongside The Firm's Jeff Kwatinetz and Josh Barry, Ballinger-Evans and Chris Ballinger.

Ballinger-Evans will star in the series that is produced by Brightlight Pictures for Netflix.

Ballinger-Evans is best known as her YouTube alter-ego Miranda Sings. The actress/comedian/singer transformed her one-woman comedy stage act in which her so-called "comically talentless, egotistical and quirky character" satirizes other videos of people singing poorly but gleefully unaware their ineptitude.

Her Miranda Sings YouTube channel has more than 5.7 million subscribers. Ballinger-Evans also has a series of comedy and lifestyle videos on her personal channel, PsychoSoprano, which has another 3.5 million subscribers. She was among THR's top 25 digital stars of 2015, is a Streamy award winner and Teen Choice Award nominee. Her Taylor Swift video has more than 41 million views (watch the clip, below).

Haters Back Off arrives as Netflix is committed to launching a new original series every week of the year. It joins Jennette McCurdy drama Between, Selena Gomez's 13 Reasons Why, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Judd Apatow's Love, newly ordered Gypsy and Mind Hunter as well as Black Mirror, Master of None, Stranger Calls, The OA, The Get Down, FlakedOrange Is the New Black, House of Cards and Marvel series Jessica Jones, Daredevil and many more.

Ballinger-Evans, Rein and McCreery as well as Chris Ballinger are with Gersh.
