The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives has one less secret. NBC's soapy pilot, from Jerry Bruckheimer, has cast Martin Henderson (Off the Map) in the lead role.

Henderson will play Kyle Dunn, a former flight surgeon and astronaut who returns from a long absence to finds something is different about the life he left behind.

NBC ordered the pilot in June from Bruckheimer and Warner Bros. Television. Based on the Josie Brown book of the same name, the pilot is described as thriller and dramatic soap about the lingering aftermath of a murder. Sascha Penn is writing the pilot, with Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed and Penn all serving as EPs alongside Bruckheimer.

Best known for his film roles in The Ring and Torque, Henderson's only regular TV gig in the U.S. has been on ABC's Off The Map -- though the New Zealander also starred in ABC's 2007 pilot Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

He joins the previously cast Perrey Reeves (Entourage), who boarded Secret Lives in the role of Danielle in September.

Henderson is repped by CAA.
