Sometimes, the truth hurts.

NBC has trimmed the order for rookie comedy Truth Be Told from 13 episodes to 10, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The Mark-Paul Gosselaar-led comedy will remain on Fridays at 8:30 p.m. for the rest of its run.

The series, which hails from creator DJ Nash and executive producer Will Packer, is one of just two comedies on NBC's current lineup, along with Undateable, which precedes Truth Be Told on Fridays. Undateable is airing all live episodes for its current third season.

Originally titled People Are Talking, Truth Be Told opened to just 2.64 million viewers and a 0.7 rating among adults ages 18-49 on Oct. 16. The second episode fell to 2.26 million and a 0.6 rating.

In a fall season with few true breakout hits, many networks have opted to trim episodes orders instead of outright canceling new shows. NBC trimmed the order for freshman fall drama The Player, ABC trimmed the episode order for Blood & Oil and Fox reduced the episode count for Minority Report.

On the flip side, NBC was the first network to give a full-season pickup, which went to Blindspot.
