Netflix Thriller Anthology 'What/If' Rounds Out Cast
Netflix's upcoming thriller, What/If, has cast five actors in recurring parts as it goes into production.
The anthology series, with Renee Zellweger heading the cast for its first run, will explore moral questions and the fallout when people start pushing the boundaries of acceptability. The first season revolves around a mysterious woman's lucrative but dubious offer to a cash-strapped newlywed couple in San Francisco.
Derek Smith, Nana Ghana, Monique Kim, Marissa Cuevas and Tyler Ross will all have recurring parts in the 10-episode series. Details about the characters they're playing are being kept quiet.
The recent casting of recurring parts follows that of Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) in a series-regular role as the CFO of a tech company. Jane Levy and Blake Jenner are reportedly playing the newlyweds. The cast also includes Keith Powers, Samantha Ware, Juan Castano and Saamer Usmani.
Zellweger plays a shrewd, mercurial venture capitalist whose success, and carefully managed public persona, are the result of a searing devotion to her unapologetic post-feminist doctrine — as exemplified by the title of a best-selling book she wrote, At Any Cost.
Mike Kelley (Revenge, Swingtown) created What/If and is executive producing with Page Fright's Melissa Loy, Atlas Entertainment's Alex Gartner and Charles Roven, and Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke of Compari Entertainment. Jackie Levine of Compari will serve as co-exec producer.
