As first reported by E! Online, a Fox rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that the Book of Mormon Broadway star will join the Fox comedy during that Tuesday's 9 p.m. outing.

Gad, who has appeared on Bored to Death, Modern Family and Californication, also stars in NBC's presidential midseason comedy, 1600 Penn. On New Girl he'll play Bearclaw, a beer delivery man at Nick's (Jake Johnson) bar who tries to woo Jess (Zooey Deschanel).

Jess will have her hands full that night. The episode also marks the first appearance for David Walton, who joins the series as a recurring love interest for Deschanel's character.

Gad and Walton join Niecy Nash and Leslie Mann as some of the bigger names dropping by the sophomore run of New Girl.
