Just days before Marvel's Luke Cage debuts on Netflix, the streaming service has released another trailer for the Mike Colter-starring series.

The latest preview opens with a look at Mahershala Ali's nightclub impresario Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, who talks about how he's going to "be the king" before beating up a man sitting in a chair in front of him.

Viewers get a sense of how Luke Cage becomes a reluctant hero, beginning with police discovering after a shootout at the barbershop where he works, that while his shirt is riddled with bulletholes, none of the bullets actually hit him.

He's then shown talking with Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple, who tells him, "Those shotgun blasts should have killed you. You're amazing. …People need you. Cops can only do so much."

But he says, "I don't want to be different than anybody else."

Later she tells him, "There is nothing that can hurt you. So what the hell are you afraid of?"

He's then shown springing into action.

Luke Cage co-stars Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades) and Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe).

The series is executive produced by showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker (SouthLAnd, Ray Donovan), Charles Murray (Roots) and Marvel's head of television Jeph Loeb.
