PaleyFest Lineup: 'Lost' Reunion, 'Community's' Fifth Trip and 'How I Met Your Mother' Farewell

TITLES: "Nowhere" to "Lost"

Says ABC's Lloyd Braun: "I was sitting on a beach in Hawaii and thinking about the movie 'Cast Away,' which had been on ABC the night before. Wouldn't it be cool to do a show about people trapped on a deserted island and then marry it with 'Survivor' and call it 'Lost?'"

This year's PaleyFest lineup has been set.

The 31st annual television festival, which takes place March 13-28 at its new home at the Dolby Theatre, will feature evenings honoring the 10th anniversary of the Lost premiere, How I Met Your Mother's swan song, a two-panel event with The Vampire Diaries and The Originals spinoff, as well as the unprecedented fifth straight appearance for Community.

Other shows being feted at this year's festival are Orange Is the New Black, Sleepy Hollow, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Masters of Sex, Veep, Parks and Recreation, Mad Men and The Mindy Project. (Five rookie series are being honored.) They join previously announced opener Veronica Mars, Pretty Little Liars and closer American Horror Story: Coven.

"With this amazing mix of new shows, returning favorites, and two high-profile cast reunions, PaleyFest 2014 will be a must-attend event for TV fans who attend every year from all over the world," said Pat Mitchell, president and CEO of The Paley Center for Media. "The caliber of talent participating in PaleyFest this year is absolutely unrivaled in the industry, and we hope fans will not only have a great time interacting with the casts and creators, but will also learn about how their favorite shows get made."

PaleyFest will give out the Icon Award, which it kicked off last year with Ryan Murphy as the recipient. The second Icon recipient has yet to be announced.

Individual tickets go on sale for Paley Center supporting members Jan. 16, general members Jan. 17 and to the general public Jan. 19. Multievent passes go on sale for members Jan. 11 and for the general public Jan. 13.
