Parks and Recreation's Adam Scott had an amusing agenda for wearing a tuxedo during his Wednesday-night appearance on Conan O'Brien's TBS talk show.

"As you know, Conan, it's awards season in Hollywood and so it's good to be prepared because at any moment I could be asked to present something or get nominated for something -- neither of which has happened," said Scott, who plays Ben Wyatt (fiance to Amy Poehler's Leslie Knope) on the NBC comedy.

He continued: "You never know. There's only like a five-month period every year where Hollywood gets to, you know, stand around in a circle and jerk each other off so I wanted to be prepared."

O'Brien's response: "I've been to that awards show. ... I was nominated."
