Peacock's Girls5eva continues to round out its impressive cast.

A.P. Bio star and former Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell has been tapped to co-star in the straight-to-series comedy from exec producers Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and Meredith Scardino (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).

The series follows what happens after one-hit-wonder girl group from the '90s gets sampled by a young rapper when its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents and shoulder pain, but can't they also be Girls5eva?

Pell will star as Gloria, who since the group disbanded has become a dentist — and come out of the closet. Now living with her elderly father, she yearns for more in life than looking in people's mouths and giving her dad heart pills. Pell joins a cast that also includes Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Busy Philipps.

The casting marks a reunion for Pell with Fey and Carlock, who all previously worked together on NBC's SNL. (Scardino, it's worth noting, arrived at the Lorne Michaels sketch show after Pell departed.) Scardino created the series and exec produces alongside Fey, Carlock, Jeff Richmond, David Miner and Eric Gurian. Kat Coiro will direct the pilot.

Girls5eva will be Pell's second comedy for Peacock, as she currently stars in NBC transfer A.P. Bio for the streamer. She's also working on Quibi's The Mapleworth Murders for Universal TV, which is also the studio behind Girls5eva. Her credits include This Is 40, Birdman, Documentary Now, Wine Country, Inside Out and producing Netflix's upcoming Sarah Cooper special. She's repped by WME and Hansen Jacobson.
