Piers Morgan's news and politics talk show will air for the final time on March 28, after which a series of familiar and new CNN names will step in for the host prior to the network naming a permanent replacement.

There will be multiple temporary fill-ins during the 9 p.m. hour, including Don Lemon, Jake Tapper, Michael Smerconish and Bill Weir.

Anchor and chief innovation correspondent Weir, who had been rumored to be eyed as a replacement at the 9 p.m. hour, will also fill in for Morgan next week while he is away on vacation.

Although his show is concluding, Morgan's fate at the network hasn't been decided. In an interview with The New York Times last month, he stated that he'd like to do "big" interviews for CNN.

"I’d like to do work -- interviews with big celebrities and powerful people -- that is better suited to what I do well and fit with what [CNN president] Jeff [Zucker] is trying to do with the network," he told the newspaper.
