Rashida Jones' Le Train Train Productions Inks First-Look TV Deal with MRC

The company headed by Jones and Will McCormack will develop new TV projects for the indie studio.

Le Train Train Productions, the company headed by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, has signed a first-look TV deal with indie studio MRC.

Under the deal, the company and its principals will create, develop and executive produce for MRC, which is behind Netflix's Ozark and House of Cards and Counterpart on Starz. Le Train Train has hired Nishika Kumble as head of development.

Jones and McCormack are executive producers of TNT's Claws, and their company produced Quincy, Jones' Netflix documentary about her father, music producer Quincy Jones. They executive produced NBC's 2014 comedy A to Z and co-wrote and produced the 2012 indie film Celeste & Jesse Forever.

Jones also stars in and produced the TBS series Angie Tribeca. McCormack wrote the feature Frenemy of the State for Universal and will direct and produce a film called Angry Bill for 2019. 

Jones is repped by UTA and Schreck Rose. McCormack is repped by UTA and Paul Hastings.

MRC's recent film slate includes Baby Driver, Ted and Elysium, and it's behind the forthcoming Mortal Engines, due for release in December. The studio also co-financed Peter Rabbit, Furious 7, 22 Jump Street and the two Hotel Transylvania sequels. MRC is part of Valence Media, the parent company of The Hollywood Reporter.
