'Rebel': Sharon Lawrence Among Four Cast in ABC's Erin Brockovich Drama (Exclusive)
ABC's Rebel is adding to its cast.
The Erin Brockovich-themed drama from Grey's Anatomy and Station 19 showrunner Krista Vernoff has enlisted Sharon Lawrence (Shameless), Mo McRae (Pitch), Sarah Grace White (The Bastard Executioner) and Nina Millin (Grey's Anatomy) for recurring roles.
Set to join ABC's Thursday night lineup on April 8 — alongside Grey's and Station 19 — Rebel is inspired by the life of Erin Brockovich with Katey Sagal portraying the legal advocate.
Lawrence, who reunites with Vernoff following an arc on Showtime's Shameless, will play Angela, a flirty, upbeat, single woman who gets involved in Rebel's life in unexpected ways. Her credits include Emmy nominated turns on NYPD Blue and Grey's Anatomy as well as Queen Sugar and Home Before Dark. She's repped by APA and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
White, Sagal's daughter, will play Jackie Huber, a fan of Rebel who comes to her for help with her landlord issues. Her credits include Sagal and Kurt Sutter's The Bastard Executioner and 68 Whiskey. She's with Talentworks and B&B Management.
McRae will play Amir, a smart, sexy and arrogant attorney at the law firm at the center of the series. He assists Cassidy (Lex Scott Davis) — also the character's love interest — in her defense of a client. His credits include Pitch, The Butler, The First Purge and Big Little Lies. He's repped by CAA and Anonymous Content.
Millin will portray Judge Bobiak, who is presiding over a central case featured in the series. Her credits include Bad Moms and working with Vernoff briefly on Grey's. She's with Vanguard Management Group.
The quartet join a series regular cast that also includes Andy Garcia, John Corbett, James Lesure, Tamala Jones and Sam Palladio. Check out a teaser for Rebel, below.
