Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and Meredith Scardino's Peacock comedy about a former girl group has added a second Grammy winner to its cast.

Hamilton alum Renée Elise Goldsberry will star opposite Sara Bareilles in Girls5eva, about a 1990s girl group that gets another shot at stardom. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt veteran Scardino created the show.

Goldsberry will play Wickie, the glamorous, big-voiced star of the group back in the day. Her solo career has hit a ditch, but she's determined to use a new opportunity to retake her rightful place as pop royalty.

"This wickedly talented team is creating something brave and new," said Goldsberry. "I'm grateful I get to be in the room with them. I honestly can't think of a better way to transition out of this year and into the new one than laughing with strong and beautiful women."

Girls5eva centers on the members of a one-hit wonder group from the 1990s. When a young rapper samples their hit, they reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain, but can‘t they also be Girls5eva?

Goldsberry won a Tony Award for playing Angelica Schuyler in the original Broadway cast of Hamilton, and shared in the Grammy win for the show's original cast album. Her TV credits include Netflix's Altered Carbon, NBC's Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist and CBS' The Good Wife. She's repped by UTA, Untitled and attorney Adam Cooper.

Scardino executive produces Girls5eva with Fey (via her Little Stranger Inc.), Carlock (via his Bevel Gears), Jeff Richmond, David Miner of 3 Arts Entertainment, and Little Stranger's Eric Gurian. The show comes from Universal TV.
