Jon Stewart's 'The Daily Show' Jabs Rick Santorum's Candid, Conservative Rhetoric (Video)

Host, writer and executive producer of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart
New York's most outspoken activist for 9/11 responders, Stewart also hosts the most-watched late-night show on cable, with 2 million viewers an episode. He topped a 2009 Time magazine poll as "America's most trusted newscaster" (ahead of NBC's Brian Williams), but he's likely more proud of being "America's funniest voice of reason."
As Rick Santorum takes the lead in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, many GOP-ers have been quick to criticize his debate tactics and overall campaign beliefs.

Using their signature comedic twist, The Daily Show's Jon Stewart and John Oliver took to the airwaves on Thursday to explain why Santorum's candid and extremely conservative rhetoric could ultimately be hurting his campaign.
"He's a little too open and honest about his thoughts and feelings," Oliver deadpans. "Republicans aren't idiots, John. They know that America like its conservatism cut with plenty of baking powder because one hit of the pure stuff and you'll wake up with Eric Stoltz strangling you, having just plunged an adrenaline needle into your heart."
The extended clip is peppered with soundbites of Santorum's most conservative quotes -- including one in which he describes a rape pregnancy as a "gift" that requires women to "make the best out of the bad situation" -- mixed with alternate and so-called "better" answers from his competitors.
