The Ringer to Debut 'Big Little Lies' Aftershow on Twitter (Exclusive)
The Ringer — known for its buzzy Game of Thrones Twitter aftershow, #TalkTheThrones — is adding one more HBO series to its watch-and-discuss list: Big Little Lies.
The Ringer is building on the #TalkTheThrones format by adding a post-show all about the hit series starring Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz. The conversational juggernaut around the show on Twitter stands to grow even further with this addition.
"Television superfans live on Twitter which makes it the perfect place for The Ringer's post-show series," Kay Madati, global vp and head of content partnerships at Twitter, said in a statement. "Now, they'll be able to continue the conversation with more Game of Thrones and Big Little Lies content on Twitter, and there is no one better than The Ringer to bring their expert analysis and insights to the dialogue right after the programs end and the discussion heats up."
Bill Simmons — whose Bill Simmons Media Group is the parent company of The Ringer — added, "Game of Thrones is an obsession of The Ringer staff. #TalkTheThrones is the ideal showcase for some of our best talents to share their expertise on the final season of the HBO phenomenon. (And gives them an excuse to talk about dragons and direwolves every week.)"
"Likewise, Big Little Lies, which deserves an enthusiastic and expert analysis of its own," Simmons continued. "We're excited to cover the show's dramatic highs and lows every week on Twitter, the perfect platform to break down these two shows."
Season two of Big Little Lies has yet to receive an official premiere date, although Kidman once suggested that it could begin to air in June.
After a successful first season on Twitter in 2017, #TalktheThrones is set to return this year in time for Game of Thrones' eighth and final season, which is set to premiere in April.
