CBS is looking to bring more women to its schedule.

The network is teaming with Rob Thomas to adapt popular web series I Mom So Hard as a multicamera comedy.

The project, which landed at CBS with a sizable pilot production commitment, revolves around two moms who show how their friendship gets them through being wives and mothers.

Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, who created and star in the web series, are attached to topline the CBS version and co-write the script alongside Michelle Nader (2 Broke Girls, Kath & Kim, The King of Queens). Thomas will executive produce the Warner Bros. Television comedy via his studio-based Spondoolie Productions. Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge are also attached as exec producers.

Hensley and Smedley are longtime collaborators who have been performing, teaching and writing comedy for four decades. The duo are heading out on a "Mom's Night Out/Summer Break Tour" in October. Each episode of their popular web series sees the duo take on topics that have included everything from Game of Thrones to Halloween, fitness and back to school, among others. I Mom So Hard comes after CBS has been criticized for its male-focused lineup the past couple years.

Hensley and Smedley are repped by UTA, Management 360 and attorney Matt Feil. Nader is with ICM Partners and Hansen Jacobson.

For Thomas, the project comes as The CW has returning drama iZombie, on which he is showrunner, set to return for midseason. He is also redeveloping an anthology take on The Lost Boys for the younger-skewing network. Thomas is repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
