Robert Kirkman's 'Outcast' Pilot Rounds Out Cast
Based on The Walking Dead creator's new comic, Outcast centers on Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers, but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.

Philip Glenister co-stars as Reverend Anderson, a West Virginia preacher who believes he is a soldier in God's holy war against the forces of evil on Earth. An inveterate drinker and gambler, he doesn't believe God intends us to sweat the small stuff.
Joining the cast are:
Reg E. Cathey (The Divide, House of Cards, Banshee), as Giles, is Rome's chief of police and a poker buddy of Anderson's. Although he doesn't believe in possession quite as strongly as Anderson, he's seen enough to know there's some truth to his friend's assertions about demons.
Julia Crockett (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), as Sarah Barns, is Kyle's mother. Filthy and raving, Sarah makes young Kyle's life a living hell. At first, this might seem like the result of mental illness. But Kyle will come to understand that it's something more.
Wrenn Schmidt (Boardwalk Empire) as Megan Holter, is Kyle's adopted sister and a child psychologist. Megan is always on a mission to fix people, especially Kyle. Although she puts up a hopeful and confident front, Megan may be as emotionally damaged as Kyle — a result of the scarred past they share.

Kip Pardue (Ray Donovan) as Mark Holter, the husband of Kyle's adopted sister, Megan. Mark is a small-town cop whose temper sometimes gets him in trouble. Despite being mildly religious, Mark is a skeptic, who would never believe in something like demonic possession.
The five join a cast that also includes Gabriel Bateman as Joshua Austin, a young boy who appears to be in the clutches of demonic possession though there's something different about this and its connection to Kyle.
Kirkman will pen the pilot script — a first for him — and executive produce alongside Chris Black, Circle of Confusion's David Alpert (The Walking Dead), FIC's Sharon Tal Yguado and Sue Naegle. The drama, which was first announced in March, hails from Fox International Channels, the company that distributes Walking Dead worldwide and a strategic partner on the zombie drama that identified AMC's ratings juggernaut during its script stage. Adam Wingard (The Guest) will direct the pilot.
Cathy is repped by Paradigm; Crockett is with SirenSong Entertainment; Schmidt is with ICM Partners, Davis Spylios and Peikoff Mahan; Pardue is with DBA and ROAR.
